The American hornist Sharon St. Onge studied with Charles Kavalovski at the Boston University School of Music and with Adriaan van Woudenberg at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. She joined the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in January 1982.
In 1995, St. Onge was invited to play in a performance commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the United Nations by the World Orchestra for Peace under the baton of Sir Georg Solti.
St. Onge is a member of the Merlot Trio, together with pianist Joost van der Meent tenor Ron Murdock. She regularly appears on the RCO chamber music series together with colleagues from the orchestra. She is now also a member of the Brass of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
